A Yonkers man is in jail after allegedly trying to kill a man. Police say Andy Andrews is charged with attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon in Monday's shooting on Oliver street. Authorities tell News 12 Andrews fired his weapon several times through the windshield of a car, striking the victim. We're told the two men know each other. The victim is now in stable condition.

There is new information about the man charged in the Monsey Hanukkah attack last year. Grafton Thomas is accused of stabbing multiple victims at a rabbi's home on Dec. 28. Six Hasidic Jews were injured, including 72-year-old Josef Neumann. Neumann died three months after the attack after being in a coma. A government psychologist examined Thomas for several months and diagnosed him with schizophrenia. The U.S. attorney's office now asking for a hearing to determine whether further treatment will improve Thomas's mental condition so he can face trial. Thomas's attorneys arguing he is not competent and should be sent to a psychiatric facility.
