Social & Lifestyle

Segway just revealed its latest motorcycle, and it's a sight for sore eyes. The Apex H2 is a Tron-inspired motorcycle with a hybrid hydrogen-electric powertrain that almost makes up for Segway halting production of its iconic scooter.

If anyone has yet to see Tron and does not know what we are talking about then we strongly suggest you watch the film just to see the sweet sweet rides featured in it. If this picture of the Apex H2 does not inspire you to do so, then nothing will.

But, first, a little history! In 2015, Segway was acquired by Chinese startup Ninebot partially due to an $80 million investment from Xiaomi and Sequoia Capital. Since then, Segway has really upped the ante in producing sleek and stylish vehicles that will inspire even the laziest of us to go for a ride!

Its brand new Apex H2 runs on a hybrid hydrogen-electric powertrain, meaning it is powered by a battery and from fuel cells filled with gaseous hydrogen. This design allows the Apex H2 to offer better mileage than an all-electric system while still being eco-conscious. Let's just say it's much better than those pesky gasoline guzzlers.

The stylish motorcycle is lined with LEDs that give it a futuristic look. But we all know what you are wondering: how does it drive? The bike can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in under four seconds and has a max speed of 94 mph.

This is definitely slower than most motorcycles but the bike makes up for it with its environmental credentials: it only emits water vapor from its exhaust pipe. If this description and image have you wanting more you should know that the bike will go into production and sale in 2023 and will cost approximately $10,699. Ride safely!
