ASPA - American Society for Public Administration South Florida Chapter
ASPA is dedicated to advancing the science, teaching and practice of public administration. It is the largest and most prominent professional association for public administration!
The Best Practices Conference focuses on highlighting the best practices presently in and around the profession, study, and practice of Public Policy and Administration. This year’s conference theme is “Public Service and the Pursuit of Social Equity”
The full-day conference will feature morning, lunch, and afternoon panel discussions that address the conference theme with a focus on the following topics: Emergency Management and Climate Change; Census 2020; Leadership and Professional Development; Community Development and Affordable Housing; Gender and Pay Equity, and much more.
The audience for the conference primarily consists of individuals employed by government, non-profits, college students, and academia, such as Dr. Caraballo. She presently serves on the Board of Directors for the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) - South Florida Chapter and is a past President. She is also the current Chair and former Treasurer of ASPA's Section for Women in Public Administration. She has organized several professional conferences and summits for the South Florida Diversity Council and its affiliate, the Council for Corporate Responsibility. She served as the Faculty Advisor for the Pi Alpha Alpha Honor Society at FIU, a chapter of the national honor society for public affairs and administration, for more than seven years.
