The Honorable Wayne Messam (Mayor, City of Miramar) participated in the opening plenary, (commission chambers) of the The Best Practices Conference presented by the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) -South Florida Chapter. The conference focuses on highlighting the best practices presently in and around the profession, study, and practice of Public Policy and Administration. This year’s conference theme is “Public Service and the Pursuit of Social Equity”

The full-day conference focus on the following topics: Emergency Management and Climate Change; Census 2020; Leadership and Professional Development; Community Development and Affordable Housing; Gender and Pay Equity, and much more.

The audience for the conference primarily consists of individuals employed by government, non-profits, academia, and college students.
