Opening day: Fans set to return to watch Bronx Bombers live for the 1st time in over a year

Fans will be allowed inside Yankee Stadium to watch a game for the first time in over a year.

Fans will be allowed inside Yankee Stadium to watch a game for the first time in over a year.

Those going to the game will be able to take their seat for the season opener, but social distancing will be in place.

Capacity is set at 20%, which is less than 10,000 fans.

Guests will need a negative coronavirus test or proof of vaccination before going in.

Once inside, masks are still required except for when eating or drinking.

Concession stands only be accepting cards with a system in place with Uber Eats where guests can order from an app and pick up their order at a select location.

Signs have also been placed all over the ballpark to ensure fans are following the rules.

The stadium is being used as a vaccination center. Coronavirus testing will be paused there for the start of the season.

The health care workers who helped vaccinate people at the stadium are being recognized with seats in the Judge’s Chambers.

Doors are expected to open at 11 a.m. The first pitch is set for 1 p.m.
