And viewers were left baffled by his 'unrecognisable' appearance and smooth features, with many taking to Twitter to ask 'what has he done to his face?'
The 53-year-old, who rose to fame on TV series The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air back in 1990, donned a three-piece suit, a purple shirt and patterned tie for the interview.
'What's up with Will Smith's face??' one viewer asked online, as well as one who said, 'Will Smith doesn't look like Will Smith'.
One suggested he looks the same as he did when he debuted on NBC TV series The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, while another described his appearance on The One Show as 'robotic'.
