There are six NBA franchises that have never had the No. 1 pick: Denver, Indiana, Memphis, Miami, Oklahoma City/Seattle and Utah. Of those six, the only one who hasn't had a single-digit draft pick in the 21st Century is the Pacers.

Indiana's last top-nine pick was in 1989, when it selected George McCloud seventh overall out of Florida State. The franchise has had the No. 2 pick three times: Steve Stipanovich in 1983, Wayman Tisdale in 1985 and Rik Smits in 1988. Smits is the only who was named an All-Star, making his lone appearance in 1998.

The Pacers have still drafted a few great players, like Hall of Famer Reggie Miller and more recently Paul George, who were the No. 11 and No. 10 picks in 1987 and 2010, respectively.
