Due to public health measures to limit the spread of coronavirus, all passport agencies are closed to the public until further notice.

If you are applying for, or renewing a U.S. passport, expedited service will not be offered and routine service may be delayed. The expedited passport processing is now restricted to cases involving life-or-death emergencies.

Other than that,  you will experience delays before receiving your passport and the return of your citizenship documents such as previous passports, and birth and naturalization certificates. All mailed applications will take about 90 days to be processed, so now is a good time to check if your US passport has expired or will expire soon.
