Miami: Fall is officially here

Fall is officially here and although our leaves and weather don’t truly reflect the season’s change, your to-do list certainly will. From the traditional pumpkin-themed happenings to new exhibitions and performances, there is something for everyone to do this season. Check out what we have on our calendars to kick off the fall:

SEASON ESSENTIALS

Pinto’s Farm – September 25th – October 31st you and the whole family can enjoy the Pumpkin Patch at The Farm complete with pedal boat and tractor rides, a pumpkin to take home and more. Details

The Berry Farms – The Berry Farms’ Harvest Festival runs through November 20th complete with a five-acre corn maze, sunflower fields, pumpkin patch, hayrides and more. Details

The Curtiss Mansion – If you’re looking for a spooky haunted house experience, escape to Cortez Manor October 7th – 31st. Details

IlluminArts and Vizcaya present Turn of the Screw – October 28th and 31st, the courtyard of Vizcaya’s Main House transforms with a unique multimedia experience by IlluminArts that’ll draw you into the opera’s chilling plot. Details

Deering Estate – Historic ghost tours are back at Deering Estate! Explore the history of Miami and the historic site. Details

Oktoberfest – There are several options around town for you to celebrate Oktoberfest this year, head to Oktoberfest Miami, Tripping Animals, Unbranded Brewing, Grovetoberfest, or Wharftoberfest to name a few.

MUSIC

III Points – III Points returns to Mana Wynwood October 22nd – 23rd for a weekend of music and activations. Headliners include The Strokes, Wu-Tang Clan, Rüfüs Du Sol, Kaytranada, Black Coffee and more. Details

The Fillmore Miami Beach – Don’t miss Modest Mouse (10/15), Thievery Corporation (10/16), SAINt JHN (10/26), Porter Robinson (10/30), Alina Baraz (11/20) and more this fall in this intimate performance setting. Details

North Beach Bandshell – Head oceanside and soak up the cooler weather to experience acts like iLe (9/30), Cimafunk (10/16), Collie Buddz (10/20), Tribal Seeds (10/24) and more.

ARTS & CULTURE

The Arsht Center – Fall at The Arsht Center is jam packed with performances to dive into. Some standouts for us include Siudy Flamenco Bailaora (10/8-10/10), Frankenstein (10/14 – 10/31), and Gipsy Kings (11/19). Details

Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami – From exhibitions like My Name is Maryan (11/17 – 3/20) and Art of the Plaza by Najja Moon (through 11/14) to immersive art experiences like Currents by Hattie Mae Williams (10/6 – 10/10), MOCA is serving up so much to dive into. Details

Miami Book Fair – Miami Book Fair returns November 14th – 21st for the gathering of hundreds of authors and countless readers in Downtown Miami. Details

Miami Film Festival – November 4th – 7th, MFF’s GEMS Film Festival presents the cinematic jewels of the fall season. Details

Frost Science – Opening October 8th Skin: Living Armor, Evolving Identity is a bilingual, multi-sensory exhibition where you’ll be able to explore the beauty and sophistication of the organ through rarely seen scientific specimens, fascinating interactives and thought-provoking investigations. Details

Museum of Art and Design (MOAD @MDC) – We’re in luck because MOAD is giving us three distinct exhibitions this fall. All running November 6th through May 1st, Hreinn Fridfinnsson: For the Time Being, Jorge Pardo: Mongrel and Loriel Beltrán: Constructed Color are experiences not to be missed. Details

South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center (SMDCAC) – SMDCAC’s season continues with can’t miss happenings like their Backyard Bash (10/23), Kat Edmonson (11/13), Sara Gazerek Quartet, and more.

FOOD AND DRINK

Happy Hour – As the weather continues to improve happy hour is absolutely on our radar, some spots you’ll find us at include The Taurus, Sweet Liberty, Tobacco Road, Cervecería La Tropical, Mama Tried, and Drunken Dragon.

New Spots – Miami continues to get some fresh spots to soak up. The Backyard at Doral Yard, Los Felix, and Dante’s HiFi are very much on our radar. Check out six spots we are obsessed with right now.

Celebrations – Spanish Marie celebrate another year in Kendall with weekend-long party October 8th – 10th and SEED Food & Wine Week brings plant-based food to the forefront November 3rd – 7th.

Re-Opening – And we can’t forget Miami favorites that are re-opening their doors. Joe’s Stone Crab opens for season on October 15th and the always delicious Chugs Diner and Jaguar Sun have re-opened with new menus and continued unforgettable experiences.
